Method

Careful listening.
Visible judgment.

How community accounts became a publication—and what the record can establish.

01

Listen in Cantonese

Guided discussion, bilingual prompts, voluntary writing, and shared reflection offered several ways to participate. Examples in the prompts also shaped what was discussed.

02

Keep the records distinct

Written guides, spoken discussion, and joint facilitator recollections contribute different kinds of evidence. Recollections are supplementary and were compiled after initial review.

03

Organize and compare

The analysis groups observations into concepts, examines related accounts, and preserves differing experiences. Guide counts describe existing coding, not independent recoding or prevalence.

04

Interpret with care

Findings connect patterns to qualifications and possible planning questions. The booklet uses paraphrases. A participant proposal, an analytical interpretation, and an adopted policy are different things.

05

Carry the conversation forward

The discussion edition identifies questions for further listening. Precise map locations, current services, and feasibility of future programs need separate verification.

PEOPLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The people behind the listening

Sky Woo and Kit Wong of Second Language Project facilitated the Cantonese session within the SL2050 and City extreme-heat engagement effort.

The organizer confirms that complete handwritten originals are available and the facilitators checked transcriptions and reconstructed difficult handwriting. This website build rechecks the supplied coding; it does not independently retranscribe the audio or handwriting.

Additional named responsibilities for coding, translation review, and web publication approval are not asserted here without a documented record.
